What we are looking for?
Cat lovers who have 1-2 hours per week and want to make a difference in a cat’s life

Knowledge that the time you spend volunteering each week makes life in the shelter more enjoyable for our homeless cats. The time you spend petting and playing with the cats helps them to stay healthy, happy, and makes them more adoptable!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Willing to commit to 1-2 hours weekly. Morning and evening shifts are available.
Feed and water cats.
Love and play with the cats.
Care and socialize kittens in a safe environment.
Bring kittens to Saturday adoptions after they have been spayed/neutered.
FOPAS pays for food and all other costs related to the kitten care
Long Term Foster:
Caring for a cat in your home that is too stressed in the shelter.
The cat may be older or have health issues needing meds and special attention.
FOPAS pays for food and all other costs related to the care of the cat.
Stocking rooms with supplies
Shelter maintenance and/or repair
How old do I have to be to volunteer? 16+, 12-16 with guardian
Do I have to volunteer for cat care every week? We ask that you commit to one shift per week.
What if I can’t work my shift due to illness or vacation? Contact the cat volunteer coordinator.

Are there any physical requirements or constraints? There are stairs and low cages that require bending.
What are the cleaning shift hours? Mornings start at 8:30 am. Evenings start between 4:30-5:00 pm
Can I earn ‘School Community Service Hours’ working with the cats? Yes!
